What Is A Spatula?

A spatula is a kitchen utensil that is used to stir, flip, spread or scrape food items.

They are usually made of rubber, silicone, or plastic and have a long handle so you can keep your hand clear when using them in cooking.

What To Look For In A Spatula For Vitamix

When looking for the best spatula for Vitamix to use with your blender there are several things to consider.

How will you be using it? Do you need it to go in the dishwasher? What material should it be made out of? These are all questions you should ask yourself before choosing one.

1] Durable And Safe To Use With Your Vitamix Blender

First, make sure the material of the spatula you choose is durable enough to use with your blender.

The Vitamix website states that the blade assembly must be made of either stainless steel or Ultem, so look for this information when buying one.

2] Dishwasher Safe For Convenience And Simple Cleaning

Finding a spatula that can go in the dishwasher is another great choice because it makes cleaning easier and more convenient.

You won’t have to worry about getting in between all of the blades in your blender because you will already have done it!

3] Flexible But Sturdy Construction For Maximum Versatility Of Use

The best spatula for Vitamix should be flexible but sturdy at the same time. This means it needs to be able to spread and scrape, but also sturdy enough not to warp or break when doing so.

4] Safe And Comfortable To Use With Either Hand

Furthermore, the best spatula for Vitamix is one that can be used by either hand. This way it can accommodate everyone in your household who will be using it!

5]  Comfortable And Easy To Grip Handle

Last, but certainly not least, the handle of your spatula should be comfortable to grip and easy to use. It needs to have a sturdy construction that is durable enough for any blender.

POSITIVE ASPECTS OF THESE 5 SPATULAS

After looking at all of these factors you are sure to be able to narrow it down even further when choosing the best spatula for Vitamix!

Each of these five options has so many great things about them that will make your life much easier when using them in your Vitamix blender.

You will really enjoy how simple they are to use so you can get back to enjoying your smoothie or soup.

As always, be sure you look at how each of these spatulas can be used so you don’t miss out on anything!

Best Spatulas For Vitamix

1. Vitamix Blade Scraper Accessory

It’s frustrating when you’re trying to scrape out the last bits of your favorite food and it just won’t come off. But not anymore!

The Vitamix Blade Scraper Accessory tool is perfect for reaching into those hard-to-reach places, like around pots without sacrificing safety or risking injury from blades.

It also works as an excellent spatula because its wide shape lets me get deep inside thick pesto sauce pots while scraping up everything on top including heavy tomato paste.

I used a regular rubber spatula before purchasing this and it doesn’t compare to the scraper. Highly recommended.

We use a lot of thick sauces and smoothies in the blender, so increasing the amount of sauce extracted is a positive thing.

Given the intricate forms of the blender’s interior, I don’t believe there’s another tool that would be better at removing those big chunks of sauce.

It isn’t perfect, and I don’t think anything will be able to remove all of a sticky sauce from a blender. However, it does an excellent job and appears to be more durable than the silicone spatula, which has been chewed up by the blades.

Overall, it’s a wonderful tool. I wish it were a little less expensive, though.

You won’t utilize this tool in the peanut butter jar or to retrieve the last of the honey. You could, but you won’t because this tool is tiny and designed for use with the blender. So it isn’t really a multitasker.

However, it’s not an awful option for people who use their blender on a regular basis.

2. Vitamix 11.2 Inch Spatula, Set of 3

These are the best spatulas.

They’re not extremely soft or Flexi, so they don’t give when you scoop food with them – which is great because this means that if I’m blending heavy ingredients like ice cream and milk in my Vitamix container without having it fly all over the place (because let’s face it: sometimes those things can get out of control), then these bad boys will do just fine!

It’s a good product with one minor issue: it doesn’t stand up to high temperatures.

I was looking for a spatula because I use my Vitamix to make hot sauces, and I needed something flexible to remove everything that remained at the bottom.

It works, but don’t use it with hot sauces since the spatula will become deformed.

You’ll need to replace them more frequently than you may believe.

For the amount we utilize our Vitamix, they do get somewhat mangled at the tip over time. Cuts don’t form in the center of the product like some of the other goods try to mimic.

I’ve labeled these as baking/mixing type spatulas only. They work well in the tight confines of my blender. However, because they are not flexible, they do not descend into the difficult-to-reach areas very far.

3. OXO Good Grips Jar Spatula

I got it because I’m making sourdough in a little jar. This saves me time when combining the components.

It also makes cleaning the jar’s sides easier.

I could see where this might be an issue for people with large hands, but it works well for me.

The spatula is an excellent kitchen tool for a variety of culinary and preparation tasks, as well as extracting the last bit of product from jars. It’s fantastic!

I put it on the top shelf of my dishwasher, and it cleans wonderfully!

It’s also a fantastic tool for sautéing, scraping mixes in the food processor, and making omelets, all with ease. I got two so I would always have a backup.

I’m usually a fan of OXO equipment, but this is definitely an exceptional product. The design is excellent.

“OXO Good Grips Silicone Jar Spatula – White” is made of silicone, indicating that it can withstand the heat if ever used while cooking (unlikely due to the fact that there are others that are better suited), and as part of the ‘OXO Good Grips’ range, offers a fantastic and very comfortable rubberized grip.

4. Tezoro Blender scraper, Silicone Blade Scraper Accessory

I bought this for what it was intended to do…a blender scraper that could reach down to the bottom of a large container and around the blades without being damaged.

It’s strong, tiny, and long enough to properly stir natural peanut butter!! Alas!

The spatula can get everything out from under there and scrape the pitcher clean – I don’t want to waste a thing.

There’s definitely a learning curve to master, as I keep getting it caught beneath the blade, but the spatula is tapered, so all I have to do now is figure out how to use it.

As opposed to just a blender, I’ll be using my Vitamix more as a food processor!

The silicone coating is all over the tool. It keeps scratches off and it is easy to hold. The handle is stiff and the scraper has some flexibility which helps scrape around the edges of jars.

If you care about spending $500 on a Vitamix machine, this blender scraper is cheaper than the same/similar one sold by Vitamix.

There is no weird strong smell.

I can’t tell yet how well it will hold up. If you just want to scrape off the nooks and crannies of your blender, then this product is good for its price.

5. Tovolo Flex-Core Flexible Edge Blender Extra-Long Handle Angled Head Reaches Below Blades, Silicone Spatula

I like it. It is useful and I think that the top should be more sturdy. Will see how long it will last.

This long-handled spatula will help you get every drop from your blender.

The edge of the spatula can scrape the side of the blender and its curved head can go under the blades to get every last drop. And it is extra-long so you don’t need to touch dirty things when cleaning out your blender!

The silicone head is made of strong nylon. The silicone is strong and can do anything, but the nylon gives it flexibility.

It is easy to clean and disinfect. The handle is soft for a comfortable grip while the silicone creates a modern look.

PA-free silicone is not sticky. It doesn’t stick to other things. It’s safe for food. Plus, it doesn’t scratch the other things in your kitchen like pans, so it is gentle to use on them too.

The spatula might not work very well for left-handers though.

Different Types Of Spatulas For Vitamix

There are several different types of spatulas, but for blender jar use, the usual type is the bent one with a rounded edge.

This rounded edge design will allow you to scrape down to the very bottom of your container.

You may find that not all blender spoons are created equal. It’s usually worth it to spend a few extra bucks to invest in quality equipment so as to keep your appliances working well over time.

Bent edges mean you can scrape down any measurement cup or jar.

Flat with rounded corners enables it to reach the very bottom of any jar.

Silicone is an excellent material. It does not absorb food odors or tastes, which makes it perfect for reusable dishware items like spoons and spatulas that come into contact with your food during use.

I have several silicone measuring cups, slotted spoons, and ladles that have lasted over 15 years without degrading since their purchase. Not only do they last forever, but they are also heat-resistant making them perfect for cooking with hot ingredients.

BPA-free plastic is excellent for inexpensive spoons which you may wish to replace frequently.

Plastic utensils can’t be used in hot ingredients, but they are great at mixing cold foods like eggs. They also make for easy clean-up since you can put them straight through the dishwasher without worrying about warping or melting.

If someone on your holiday shopping list is attached to their traditional wooden spoon or utensils, then this type of plastic may be the best choice, as it will likely stand up better than wood over time.

This material tends to discolor more quickly if left in standing water long enough to soak through, so it’s a good idea not to leave them sitting

Frequently Asked Questions

Where To Buy Spatulas For Vitamix?

You can buy them in any local store or online.

For example, you could visit Amazon to pick out a good blender scraper.

If you want more than just one then it is cheaper to buy them online.

What Type Of Materials Should I Look For When Buying A Spatula?

Spatulas come in many different materials. Wooden and plastic are two common examples since they’re the cheapest.

However, there are disadvantages to those types because they cannot be used with hot ingredients or can’t stand up as well as silicone or metal ones over time.

Metal and silicone tend to last much longer, but they cost slightly more so you’ll have to decide which price range fits your needs best.

Do I Need Any Extra Tools?

While you don’t typically need other kitchen utensils while working with your Vitamix, you may want to make sure you have the proper tools like a tamper or blender scraper before starting.

How Do I Take Care Of This?

Silicone is easy to clean since it does not absorb food odors or tastes.

It can go through the dishwasher without potential melting, warping, discoloration issues that other materials might experience.

Kitchen utensils like spoons are perfect for mixing ingredients together but should not stay in hot ingredients for too long so they don’t melt or warp over time.
