Nutribullet Not Working? Here’s How To Fix It

If you use my link to make a purchase, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to your purchase.

A Nutribullet is a powerful blender that can be used to make smoothies, but also soup, sauces, and more.

The machine itself looks like an oversized sports bottle with blades on the inside.

It has three parts: the base which houses all of the electronics; the cup which holds your ingredients; and the blades at the top for chopping up food.

But what happens if it stops working? Here are some possible causes and how to fix them.

Why Is My Nutribullet Not Working?

In this article, we’ll explore why your Nutribullet might have stopped working and how you can fix it.

Blender is Noisy

If your Nutribullet is loud when turned on, there may be something stuck in the blades that are preventing them from spinning quickly enough to blend food properly.

Turn off the blender and take apart each part (the cup, base, and lid).

Check for any food chunks or unwanted items that might be caught up in the blades near the bottom of the jar.

Use a toothpick or other small tool to remove anything noticeable while the machine is turned off. Then reassemble until it’s all back together again.

Once complete turn on your blender again to see if noise has been reduced. If not, keep reading for other possible reasons why your Nutribullet isn’t working.

Blender is Leaking

If you’ve noticed liquids coming out from around the jar when using your Nutribullet, there could be a seal near one of the lids that’s no longer sealed correctly.

Recall how many pieces are involved with putting together and taking apart each jar.

One of them has two halves which can come undone if either of them is improperly attached or missing entirely.

Make sure all of the plastic components (especially the lid) are snapped securely into place before trying to use it again.

Blender Base Isn’t Working

The base houses the motor that turns blades in order to blend properly and it normally contains an on/off switch.

If you’ve checked all the components surrounding the jar and know that none of them are to blame, there may be a problem with the base itself. Fortunately, this is an easy issue to fix.

The Nutribullet comes with a warranty for three years after purchase (and includes free shipping back if needed).

You can contact customer service through email or phone about getting a replacement base, which shouldn’t take more than a few minutes if it’s valid.

Blender Blades Broken

If neither of those workarounds has solved your Nutribullet problems – or you’re just feeling unlucky – then one or more blades might have actually broken off inside the cup from all of the blending sessions over time.

While it’s rare to happen, it can happen. While you might be able to see the blades at the bottom of the jar while using your blender, there are other small plastic pieces that blend together into one smoothie.

If you cannot remove them by hand and/or they stop the machine from working properly then contact customer service for a replacement jar and/or blades if needed.

Blender Isn’t Spinning

In order to be able to use your Nutribullet, the blades need to spin at a high speed in order to blend properly.

If you’ve made sure that the jar isn’t stuck and there’s nothing inside of it causing issues (like blades), then perhaps there’s an issue with electricity or power reaching the machine.

Make sure the cord is all the way plugged in by following its route from the base to where it enters your wall outlet.

Unplug and try using it again just in case something got loose during shipping.

Blender Won’t Turn On

If none of those steps helped solve your Nutribullet problems, check to make sure that the power cord is plugged in all the way by following its route from the base to where it enters your wall outlet.

Unplug and try using it again just in case something got loose during shipping or electrical interference (like a storm).

Screws are Getting Loose

If none of the parts has come undone from all of its use, then there may be a problem with one or more screws getting loose and no longer holding everything together securely.

Similar to how you took apart each piece, loosen them up by hand while the blender is off until they slip completely out.

Then put them back in place and reassemble your Nutribullet for further use (be sure not to tighten them too much).

Blades are Bent Out of Shape

As mentioned previously, blades can sometimes break off.

However, if it’s only one blade that’s bent, another remedy might be possible without having to buy any replacement parts or an entirely new Nutribullet.

Try combining two smoothies that are each usually blended separately on low-medium speed for 5 to 10 seconds at a time until they’re as smooth as ever before. This will help bend the blades back into working order again and remove any unwanted chunks from ruining your next combination.

Other Problems

If all else fails, and your Nutribullet is just up and quit working after a few months of use, then be sure that you’re using the right type of ingredients.

If you like to blend your greens (such as kale) along with small seeds or nuts it’s possible that one of them got caught in between the blades, which could’ve caused some damage.

This would require replacement parts such as custom blades designed for tougher blending.

Repairing Your Nutribullet Yourself

If none of these ideas has gotten your Nutribullet working again, then it may need some more extensive repairs or replacement parts – but not to worry!

Try repairing it yourself before anything else. With a little bit of elbow grease (and time) you should be able to fix any issues on your own without needing to get a replacement.

My Nutribullet Stopped Working – Conclusion

If none of these workarounds solve your Nutribullet problems or you need further assistance with fixing yours, then it may very well be time to get in touch with customer service through email or phone.

If your blender is still covered by the warranty (and hasn’t reached its normal 1-year lifespan) then repairing or replacing parts should be free of charge unless otherwise noted.

The Nutribullet is easy to use, but not always so simple to fix.

Now you should have the information needed to diagnose and resolve any difficulties you experience with your blender in the future.
