Is Vitamix Good For Making Green Smoothies?

Yes, Vitamix is great for making green smoothies!

Vitamix blenders are known for their strength and ability to create the perfect pureed texture in just seconds.

This will help when trying to break down tough ingredients like kale, spinach, or celery- which take only a few seconds thanks to the blades of a high-powered blender like Vitamix.

What Ingredients Should I Put Into My Green Smoothie?

There are endless combinations you can make, but I suggest starting with 1-2 cups of fruit (frozen) and 2-3 handfuls of leafy greens (like spinach).

You can also experiment with adding crushed ice or yogurt if you want your smoothie thicker.

Using the touchscreen panel on top makes it easy to adjust the settings of your blender- and make sure you choose the highest setting!

I usually start my green smoothie with 2 cups of frozen fruit (usually strawberries or mangoes) and then 3-4 handfuls of leafy greens like spinach.

I also add crushed ice if I want a thicker consistency, but you can experiment by adding other ingredients like yogurt for variety!

Which Vitamix Blender Is Best For Making Green Smoothies?

All three recipes are made in the Vitamix 5200, but you can use any model.

There are two things to keep in mind when picking a model to make green smoothies:

  1. All blenders require leafy greens to be chopped into smaller pieces before they’ll blend properly.
  2. A tamper will be required for all machines because you need to push ingredients into the blades while blending (unlike soups and frozen desserts). Choosing an option with a narrow base (such as the Vitamix 7500 or S30) makes it easier to push ingredients into the blades without getting stuck on the sides of the container. This is especially important if you plan on making trickeries like Green Power Blend!
