The best part about summer is the refreshing drinks that come with it.

I’m sure you’ve been out at a restaurant or bar and seen this tall, sweet-looking drink in the ice bin. It’s usually bright blue with a straw sticking out of it. But what is that heavenly concoction? What does it taste like? And how can I make one myself?

The answer to all three questions is a slushie! A slushie is simply crushed up ice, flavored syrup*, and your favorite soda. That’s right – no special equipment is needed!

All you need to do is put some ice cubes in a slushie blender, pour some syrup on top, and add your favorite soda (Coca-Cola® Slurpee®, for example). Then just blend until the mixture becomes icy cold and smooth.

They’re especially easy if you own a Ninja blender!

In this blog post, I will show you how to make slushies with a Ninja blender.

You will learn 8 different recipes for slushies that can be mixed up any time of day: classic fruit flavor, kool-aid, and coke.

Just follow our simple step-by-step instructions and enjoy your favorite drink all summer long!

Making slushies at home is a great way to save money. You can make them in bulk and freeze them.

When you want one, just pull it out of the freezer and pop it in the fridge for an hour or so before you serve it.

The benefits of making your own homemade slushies are that they’re healthier than store-bought ones because they don’t have all of those extra additives and preservatives.

Yes, of course. If you can make smoothies in a ninja blender, you certainly can make slushes.

Ninja blenders are an excellent tool for making slushies at home. They allow you to mix up your favorite ingredients into a delicious, icy concoction that is perfect for summer days and nights.

There are many different recipes out there.

The best way to make a slushie is by having the correct ingredients and blending them correctly. It’s actually really easy!

Just take your chilled water, ice cubes, fruit flavor of choice, and then add some special ingredients for sweetness (or at least taste sweet).

Place all these ingredients in a slushie blender with enough room so that they can blend properly without spilling.

Then give them 2 minutes or more until you get an icy texture like what comes out from those ol’ school slushie machines!

Now let’s look into some interesting recipes involving summertime flavors.

1. Fruit Slushie

This recipe is perfect for when you’re feeling a little under the weather.

It’s packed with vitamins and nutrients that will help your body heal itself, while also providing much-needed hydration to keep those pesky symptoms at bay!

To make this drink, all you need are 1 cup ice (plus extra depending on what type of fruit is used), about 1/2 – 2 cups chopped fresh fruit such as banana or mangoes; and finally some sparkling water which can be either still or carbonated–whatever floats your boat!

I like adding in additional herbs, spices, other ingredients because it helps me tailor my drinks so they fit my mood exactly.

For example, if I feel energized by citrus flavors I might add lemon juice.

Method

  1. Wash and chop the fruit: Wash, clean and peel any fruits. Cut it up into smaller pieces so that you have a 1 ½ to 2 cups total measurement when done chopping.
  2. Put all ingredients in the Ninja blender and mix them up. Once you’ve mixed everything, add the ice-cold sparkling water to cool things down even more. If needed (depending on what your fruit is), sprinkle some lemon juice or mint leaves over top of it!
  3. Blend on high speed until the ice is completely crushed and the fruit is blended. Check to see if it’s slushy consistency by squishing a handful of your mixture against your palm–if they stay together, you’re done. If not, add some more ice or continue blending longer with an occasional stir in between pulses for about 10 minutes total as needed before serving!
  4. Pour into a glass and drink up immediately for the best flavor.

2. Kool-Aid Slushie Recipe

Kool-Aid slushies are a classic summer drink. They’re bright, refreshing, and taste like childhood! This recipe is really easy to make.

These make for great summertime treats when you want something cold on those warm days with family or friends – just fill up your glass of ice cubes (or use frozen fruit) then add in some packets of whichever flavors sounds best at the time from our collection here so they blend together nicely and voila: your own personal kiddie treat made by yourself!

Method

  1. Start by filling your blender with 2 cups of cold water, 1 packet of Kool-aid (any flavor!), ½ cup sugar, and 4 cups ice cubes.
  2. Blend on high until all the ice has been turned into slush!
  3. Serve in standard drinking glasses. This recipe will make enough to serve four people.

3. Coca Cola Slushie Recipe

Coca-cola slushies are a popular summer drink.

They’re easy to make at home with only a few ingredients and minimal equipment.

If you have a Ninja blender, the process of making a coke slushie is even easier!

Here we will show you how to create your own coke slushie from scratch without compromising on taste or flavor.

Ingredients

  1. 3 cups of Coca-Cola {or two 12 oz. cans}
  2. 8 large Ice Cubes

Method

Here is how to make delicious Coca-Cola slushies at home!

  1. Pour one and a half cups of soda or 1 can into an ice cube tray. Place in the freezer for 4 hours, until it has completely frozen.
  2. Then transfer that block of Coke from your freezer onto a blender with 8 cubes of ice, pour chilled coke on top (1 cup) then blend together well before serving in Cute Mason Jars with straws or spoons so you don’t have any spills.

4. Citrus Slushie Recipe

This recipe is so easy to make but tastes delicious and refreshing – perfect for when you’re looking for a new way to beat the heat.

What You Need

  • Water
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Orange

Instructions

1) In a bowl, mix together water, sugar, salt, and lemons until thoroughly combined.

2) Pour mixture into your blender then add oranges (you don’t have to peel them).

3) Turn on the blender and let run for 2 minutes or until slushy consistency has been reached.

4) Pour the mixture into a cup and enjoy!

This recipe couldn’t be easier and will come in handy when you’re looking for something refreshing to eat or drink.

5. Raspberry Slushie Recipe

A healthy raspberry slushie can be a refreshing treat on a hot day.

With the help of your Ninja blender, you can create this drink in just minutes with just three ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Raspberries
  • Water
  • Frozen fruit juice concentrate.

Method

1) Start by adding the frozen juice concentrate to the blender followed by some ice cubes and then blend everything together until it is smooth.

2) Finally, add in one cup of fresh or thawed raspberries and pulse again until they are finely chopped and distributed evenly throughout the mixture. Enjoy!

6. Blueberry And Cranberry Slushie Recipe

The best thing about this drink is that it doesn’t have any refined sugars in it so it won’t spike your blood sugar levels or cause an insulin response.

It also has no artificial colors or flavors which means you can enjoy the natural taste of the fruit without all the extra additives. This recipe is vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo-friendly!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries
  • 1/4 cup frozen cranberries (or more if you want a stronger flavor)
  • 1 cup coconut water (you can also use leftover coconut water from making your own ice cubes)
  • Fresh mint and/or fresh basil for garnish (optional) – I just used the spearmint that grows on my patio.

Method

Add all ingredients to the Ninja blender, pulsing between each ingredient until smooth. Pour into cups and add optional fresh herbs or edible flowers if you want something pretty!

7. Mountain Dew Slushie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ice cubes
  • Mountain dew

Method

1) Crush up some ice cubes in a blender (I used my Ninja blender) until they are completely crushed into little pieces about the size of snowflakes or smaller.

2) Pour out about 1 cup of Mountain Dew into a large mixing bowl or measuring cup.

3) Place the ice from the blender into the cup or bowl with the Dew.

4) Stir it all together until they are thoroughly combined.

I used crushed ice for this recipe, but you could also use crushed-up ice cubes if you like more of a slushie texture as opposed to just a frozen block of ice.

And that’s it! You’ve just made your own Mountain Dew Slushie.

If you’re going to drink it right away, I recommend drinking it out of a large cup or bowl and not right from the mixing bowl because if you do that (as we did for this video), the ice will melt and make the slushie watery rather than frozen.

It’s more fun to drink it straight from the mixing bowl if you plan on putting it in the freezer to finish freezing.

It’ll be a frozen block of ice when you take it out, which is pretty cool (and really refreshing on a hot summer day).

8. Sugar-Free Slushie Recipe

Summer is coming and it’s time to start getting ready. Everybody knows that nothing beats a refreshing slushie on a hot day, but what if you want to avoid the sugar?

Well, have no fear my friend because I’ve got just the thing for you!

This simple recipe will give your summer drinks the same great taste without any of the guilt.

Interested? Then let me show you how it’s done.

Here’s what you need to get started:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of frozen cauliflower florets
  • 5 cups of ice cubes (start with less and add more if needed)
  • 2 tablespoons of soured cream or coconut milk powder (optional)

Method

1) Put your frozen cauliflower into a blender. Add 1/4 cup of the ice and blend it on high until the cauliflower is broken down into a fine powder.

2) In a small measuring jug, mix your remaining 4 cups of water with your soured cream or coconut milk powder (if using). Pour that mixture over the contents of your blender. This will help prevent the slushie from freezing solid.

3) Blend the mixture for another minute on high. The idea is to keep it moving so all of the ingredients are evenly mixed. If you stop up, just break some more ice cubes into pieces and add them in until everything starts moving freely again.

4) Pour your final slushie into a tall glass and serve! You can adjust the ingredients to fit your personal taste by freezing more or less cauliflower, adding powdered chocolate for a sweeter drink, or using regular milk instead of soured cream (although you may have to add extra ice since the milk will thicken your slushie considerably).
